About Institution

Since its founding in 2012, Galvanize (headquartered in Denver) has operated as part co-working, part-school and grew rapidly fueled by over $180 million from leading investors such as ABS Capital, New Markets, Catalyst, and University Ventures. To expand into a bootcamp school, Galvanize first acquired Zipfian Academy in 2015 and later HackReactor in 2018. In January 2020, it was announced that Galvanize was to be acquired by Stride Inc (then K12, Inc.) but will continue to operate under the Galvanize brand. Today, Galvanize offers the Hack Reactor software engineering immersives both online and at its 8 campuses (including in Austin, Texas). Since the global COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of Galvanize's Hack Reactor software engineering immersives have been offered online. With self-reported alumni of over 7,200 graduates and a median compensation increase of $22,000, Galvanize is committed to transparency and possesses a track record of preparing the next generation of software developers. In 2020, Galvanize Hack Reactor reported that the Austin Texas campus graduated nearly 77% of its students on time with 76% of graduates securing employment within 180 days of graduation at a median annual salary of $81,600.
